As a bookbinder, I have used my share of different types of bone folders. Even the best, lasted only for a couple of months! Even if I do not accidentally throw it and break some edge, glue and paint stick on it and cannot be removed. I have also tear my share of papers during folding, after applying more pressure than needed or a pressing at a wrong angle.
