This journal is one of my artist series called "Windows to the Soul". Each journal of this series is unique and one of its kind. The covers are featuring openings which reveal glimpses of my original monoprints or other interesting papers.

📌 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐱 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫
Kraft-Tex is a paper product that washes, cuts, and sews like fabric, but looks and feels like leather as it softens and wears. People call it Vegan Leather as it has the strength and durability of leather, without any animal by-products, as most man made leather have. You may have seen it in your jeans, as it has replaced the traditional leather tags at the back of your jeans.
It has a "rugged" texture, can be dyed and washed in the washing machine. In fact this is what I have done with the covers of these journals, to obtain the vibrant colors and the unique look!
You can paint on the cover with acrylics, if you want to personalise the journal further, without the use of primer or gesso.

📜 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫
The journal has 92 pages (counting both sides) of an 140lb (300gsm) natural white sugar cane paper. It is a FineArt paper made from a rapidly renewable natural raw material – sugar cane. 70% of this environmentally friendly paper consist of bagasse fibres, a by-product of sugar cane processing. The remaining 30% is cotton from recycling paper surplus. The natural white, warm-toned sugar cane paper does not contain optical brighteners, and features a unique, clearly defined felt structure and tactile feel, which gives the artwork outstanding expressiveness and soul. It is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most stringent requirements in terms of age resistance.
