This is a 100% cotton paper made by hand in the village of Tarihal near Hubli, in Karnataka, South India. Khadi rag papers are made from 100% cotton rag, which have longer fibers than linters that are generally used in papermaking. These genuine rag papers are known for their exceptional strength and durability. *** About Fabriano Mixed Media When I started to use wet media in my journals, I was disapointed by many watercolor pads. The paper was not strong enough, or it could not absorb watercolors adequately or the paint would lose its vibrancy when dry. The good watercolor papers were really expensive and I was afraid to experiment and "waste" them. I researched the market, for many years, until I found the perfect paper. It is strong, accepts watercolors and other wet media perfectly and it is really good in all my mixed media experiments both wet and dry. The last few years, it is the only paper I use. It is made by Fabriano, an Italian paper manufacturer that produces quality paper since 1264. It is a strong 300 gsm (140lb) cold pressed watercolor paper. Although it is designed for wet media such as watercolor, guache, acrylics and ink, it performs exceptionally well for dry media such as pencil, pastel, charcoal etc .
